Before the Consultation
Telephone call to make initial contact and to discuss what to expect as well as raise any other matter of interest to the Client.
Before the Consultation I have a telephone conversation with you in which I introduce myself and ask you to explain to me the sorts of things and the areas of your life you would like me to concentrate upon in the Consultation. This gives me an opportunity to explain the services I offer as well as taking your contact details – such as your mobile telephone number and e-mail address – in order to confirm the birth details supplied to me and to send you a copy of your chart, and also in case I need to contact you again prior to the Consultation.
In addition to the above, it is critical for me to ascertain from you the most accurate information relating to the time, the date, and the place of your birth.
The Exact Time of Birth and Rectifying a Chart
The more accurate the time of birth is, the better the information I will have from which to cast the horoscope Chart and then to interpret the Chart. If your exact time of birth was not recorded, or if you do not know the exact time of your birth within, say, a two hour window, I will need to rectify your Chart – that is, I will need to find a time that I can reliably use for interpreting your Chart.
The basic fee is $80 | This rectification task attracts an additional fee of $40 – see Fees.
Given that Rectification can be a difficult process and that it also adds extra cost to the Consultation, I encourage you to verify the time of your birth, especially if it is ambiguous. This will involve doing a bit of research and perhaps digging up stories from people who were present at your birth or searching for contemporaneous records in order to obtain an accurate time or at least a broad idea of when you were born.
Usually your parents (if alive) are the best source of birth times, but if they are not available then there may be stories about the birth that is part of the family history of how you came into the world! For example – you may have been born in the middle of the night, just after midnight, or just before dinner time. There may be some story tying the time of birth to a particular event in the life of a parent, grandparent, sibling or family member. You may be able to obtain a copy of your birth certificate from the relevant registry which has the time of birth recorded. Often family bibles or other contemporaneous records (letters, cards, etc) may have the birth time recorded.
Rectification of a Chart
In the event that there is ambiguity about the exact time of birth, I will need you to supply me with five or so previous dates of meaning and significance to you. These dates should be as accurate as possible – including at least the month and the year and preferably the day of the month and even the time during the day if possible. I will use these dates with various astrological techniques to try and find a usefully reliable time with which to interpret the Chart.
These dates include events as follows:
- moving house, countries, States, schools – especially the most life significant times to you
- major illnesses or accidents
- important relationships
- big changes in status like starting work (after studies) major job promotion or major job change;
- relationships beginning or ending including marriages; separations
- birth of children death of family/ wider family/ significant friends/ significant pets;
- love affairs
- unexpected yet powerful events
- anything at all which can be put into the category of “life shattering” or “life-transforming” or “life significant” events
Even if you supply me with a birth time within a two hour window, I would still ask you to give me at least a few dates such as those above to ensure I am working with the best time I am able to locate.
If I am unable to Rectify the Chart
In the event I am not able to find a time with which I can work, I reserve the right to advise you that I will not proceed with the Consultation. Many observations made in horoscope analysis need a reliable interpretive time of birth. Without this, the Consultation will not able to supply the sort of detail that Astrologers normally are able to give to Clients.
